Quality Control Slides are designed with specific control areas. Tested samples and controls can be placed on the same slides, in favor of rapid and accurate staining procedures. The controls may be anything samples used in quality control, education and proficiency programs, including Histology, Bacteriology, Mycobacteriology, Parasitology, and/or Mycology. They can be distinguished by the shape and the color of control areas. Utilizing quality control slides can be used to verify performance of stain reagents, staining methods, and the performance of personnel interpreting microscopic examinations.
